By the time we get to September, October, members are going to want to know how well this is working, and if it isn't, what's Plan B.

Boehner has a track record of screwing up his timetables, but his use of the phrase "Plan B" illustrates just how disorganized the Republican party is on the issue of the war. Last month Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) told Chris Matthews that the Republicans do have a "Plan B" they're willing to unleash in August of next year if/when the Glorious Surge fails:

"Let's give victory a chance and then in August of 2008, if it's not working then, indeed, this President and the Republican majority from the last Congress, we do have a plan B. But we're not gonna give it to the enemy!"

What's more, in early March, a group of governors met with President Bush and General Pace to talk about the administration's contingency plan. This is what Governor Bredesen (D-TN) recalled was Bush's answer:

"Plan B was to make Plan A work."

Encouraging, huh? I don't know what's worse: That Bush doesn't have a backup plan; or that the political party who is prolonging this war and blindly supporting the President doesnt know what the hell they're talking about. Your thoughts?
