When I was in college I wound up working with Howard Solomon of the Cafe Au Go Go. He'd hire all these incredible bands at his NYC club for 6 nights and I'd get them to play my college on Long Island on the 7th days. That's how I first saw the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Butterfield was a white harmonica player from Chicago playing Muddy Waters/Howlin' Wolf style gritty blues with Elvin Bishop and Mike Bloomfield.

"Walkin' Blues," a Robert Johnson cover led off their second album, East West in 1966.
