It's Tough Out There For A Republican

I'm just enjoying the implosion of the party after they've proven so well how inept they are at the actual business of government.

DCCC:

The DCCC has launched a multimedia campaign to highlight House Republicans' hypocrisy in claiming to support our troops and veterans, but then playing politics with funding them.

The ad is playing in the following vulnerable races:

AZ-03: John Shadegg
FL-12: Adam Putnam
FL-18, FL-21, FL-25: South Florida Republicans
FL-24: Tom Feeney
NY-29: Randy Kuhl
OH-01: Steve Chabot

In addition, the DCCC has put together radio spots and robo-calls that hit on what has developed as the GOP's kryptonite this election year: lobbyists. Indeed, we've won three seats that were considered safe Republican seats if the member hadn't quit to become a lobbyist: IL-14 (Hastert--really not making his GOP buddies happy), LA-06 (Baker), MS-01 (Lott). And that's not all, Republicans candidates all over the country are hurting:

• In NY-13, after Fossella retired, the GOP apparently couldn't find anyone to run for his seat. Except someone no one--and I mean, no one--had heard of.

• In bright cherry red state Wyoming--a state Kerry lost 69-29--the Democratic candidate is ahead of the Republican. Given that Obama is polling ahead of McCain in the area, that bodes exceptionally well for the Democrats in November.
