Assuming that people are paid what they’re worth, that makes minimum wage workers worth a mere $7.25 an hour. Corporations refuse to pay more because they think this would “kill jobs”.

When General Motors was the largest employer in America fifty years ago, their employees were paid a whopping $35 an hour in current dollars. Walmart, America’s present largest employer, pays average employees a measly $8.80 an hour.
