C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Aaron Copland

There aren't many orchestral composers more quintessentially American than Aaron Copland.

But what does that mean, anyway? Well, the guy used a lot of motifs that mimicked American folk styles for one, and second, he wrote a lot about American historical figures and places. However, this really helped establish the U.S. as a place that fostered the creation of art centered around its own themes and history, rather than just "ripping off" European styles.

Got any favorite composers who wrote about their country?
