State Department Spokesperson On Israel: We Just Want You To Try Harder Not To Kill Kids

If there's anything I truly despise about modern politics, it's how "messaging" has bastardized and distorted the meaning of language. Euphemisms abound, no one ever gives a straight answer to anything, there's no real information shared and no truth divulged. Here's State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki responding to a fairly straightforward question from CNN's Chris Cuomo with a tap dance worthy of Fred and Ginger:
“You say this is wrong, you can’t do this kind of shelling or targeted attacks,” Cuomo posed. “You are providing the weapons and artillery that allow these attacks to continue. Does that complicate a message of humanity coming from the United States?”
“It’s no secret to anyone in the world that the US and Israel have a strong security relationship, and that includes providing them with equipment and supplies,” Psaki responded. “But that does not change the fact that when you have a situation where innocent civilians are killed, there’s more that Israel can do to hold themselves to their own standards.”
Of the attack that killed ten Palestinians, Psaki said Sunday, “The United States is appalled by today’s disgraceful shelling outside an UNRWA school in Rafah sheltering some 3,000 displaced persons.”
