C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Pentangle

In the wake of John Renbourn's passing, here's a live performance of his best known project, Pentangle, with him on guitar.

John Renbourn passed away yesterday at age 70 due to a heart attack. He is probably best known for contributing guitar (and other instruments) to Pentangle, an experimental folk/jazz/rock band that primarily performed traditional folk songs. They were definitely unique as a traditional folk group in the late '60s, which was dominated by psychedelic rockers and hadn't quite diasporated into the folk-rock scene of the early '70s. Bands like Renaissance and Fairport Convention were developing along side Pentangle and they went on to put a new spin on an old sound. Mr. Renbourn was a big part of that, and for that, we say thank you for your contributions to the world of popular music and rest in peace.
