Chris Wallace Pushes Latest Right Wing Conspiracy Theory On Menendez Indictment
This is what we can expect from the supposed "straight news" anchors over at Fox.
This is what we can expect from the supposed "straight news" anchors over at Fox. Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace is supposed to be one of their actual "journalists" (which we all know is a complete joke in itself) as compared to their "opinion" hosts like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.
That didn't stop him from pushing one of the right's latest conspiracy theories, with no proof to back it up whatsoever, while interviewing Republican Sen. Bob Corker, and asking him if the D.O.J. was going after the recently indicted Sen. Robert Menendez because he dared to oppose the Obama administration on this Iranian nuclear deal.
Wallace just proved himself to be every bit as bad as the rest of his cohorts on Faux "news" who have been pushing this same nonsense all week as well.
Wallace To Sen. Corker: Was Menendez Indicted As Punishment For Opposing Obama:
On Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace and the Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Bob Corker dicuss the Iran nuke deal and whether Sen. Bob Menendez was indicted on more than a dozen charges in retaliation for his criticism of the Obama administration over its detente with Cuba and its nuclear deal with Iran.
Wallace: “Do you believe there is any connection between [Menendez's] opposition to the president on this and on Cuba, and the fact that he was brought up on charges?”
Corker: “I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes,” Corker said. “I know that Menendez has been a very good partner on foreign policy issues. He’s been very constructive, and I’m sure he will continue to be.”
“As to the motivations of the Justice Department, I just would have no way of knowing.”
I don't have any use for Menendez and am quite disgusted with the rest of the Democrats who look like they're willing to help Republicans throw a wrench into this deal with the Iranians. It would not surprise me if the Obama administration is at least as fed up with them as I am, and rightfully so.
That said, this investigation into Menendez has been going on long before the recent developments with the talks on Iran, and it's completely irresponsible to just make up crap out of thin air as Chris Wallace was doing here.
I'd say Wallace should be ashamed of himself, but we all know that's a moot point for anyone who is already willing to sell their soul and work for his network.
