Protesters Win Court Award Against Walker's Wisconsin
Looks like Scott Walker Wouldn't be able to handle ISIS after all.
Earlier this year, Scott Walker made one of his many blunders in a show of false bravado, when he compared Wisconsin protesters to the terrorist group ISIS:
“I want a commander in chief who will do everything in their power to ensure that the threat from radical Islamic terrorists does not wash up on American soil,” said Walker, a likely 2016 presidential candidate. “If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world.”
Funny thing though is that he didn't really do a good job handling the protesters. Some of his stories of heroism were flat out lies. And by Walker's own admission, he boldly scurried through tunnels under the Capitol, like the rat he is, to avoid the protesters:
Now Walker gets to boldly shell out taxpayers' money to pay protesters for violating their rights:
Six protesters issued citations during the 2011 protests against Act 10 were awarded financial damages after a one-day trial Tuesday.
Dane County Judge Frank Remington awarded plaintiffs Jeremy Ryan, Jenna Pope, Valerie Walasek, Lauri Harty, Anne Hoppe and her mother, Kathleen Hoppe, damages totaling $44,830.
The six protesters were issued citations while protesting Republican Gov. Scott Walker's legislation that significantly diminished collective bargaining rights of most public employees. All of their citations were dismissed within six weeks.
The plaintiffs filed a civil rights suit against several individuals within the Wisconsin Department of Administration, claiming the administrative code that required a permit to hold a sign on state property was ruled unconstitutional. The rule was declared unconstitutional in May.
On Tuesday, Remington awarded compensation for attorney fees, which ranged from $2,500 to $4,900 per plaintiff, as well as awards for loss of liberty, emotional distress and damage to reputation varying from $1,000 to $5,200 per plaintiff.
So, if we go by Walker's actual behaviors instead of his grandiose rhetoric, if Walker were to be elected president, he would handle ISIS much like Bush handled al Qaeda. He would send in others to do his dirty work while hiding out in undisclosed locations and let the taxpayers pick up the tab.
The only thing left for Walker to do would be getting fitted for a flight suit.
