Fox Yakkers Attack CNN Reporter Who Will Interview Clinton For Attending Aide's Wedding
The employees of GOP-TV are terribly concerned about whether or not a reporter for CNN can be objective when interviewing Hillary Clinton.
I'm all for full disclosure when there's some conflict of interest between reporters and the people they are covering or the topics they're reporting on. That said, the last people in the world I want to hear lecture anyone on the topic are the employees of Faux "news," otherwise known as GOP-TV.
That's exactly what the audience was treated to on this Tuesday's Fox & Friends, where co-hosts Steve Doocy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Brian Kilmeade were apparently terribly upset that CNN's Brianna Kieller, who is going to be interviewing Hillary Clinton later in the day, attended one of her aide's weddings.
Various other right-wing rags and blogs, such as Newsbusters are attacking Kieller for failing to be impartial as well, because she was supposedly "fawning over" Clinton when she said Clinton is "just like us" for eating at Chipotle. That and last year she said something they didn't like about Karl Rove. Oh and back in 2007 she said something about Jim Inhofe being a global warming denier. The horror!!! How can anyone this biased be allowed to interview Hillary Clinton??!!
According to the Mediaite post linked above, the Clinton staffer pointed out to them that Kieller attended Paul Ryan's communication director's wedding as well, but don't dare suggest that they were trying to go after her in the article.
As Media Matters discussed back in May when the talking heads on Fox were going nuts over ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos and his conflict of interest due to his donations to the Clinton's charity, they've got a selective outrage problem when it comes to disclosures and the conflict of interests of the regulars on their network, such as Marc Thiessen, Sean Hannity, Karl Rove, Doug Schoen and Frank Luntz.
No matter who lands the first lengthy interview with Clinton since she formally announced she was running for president, I'm sure the talking heads on the right will never believe it's "fair and balanced" unless the person interviewing her treats it like an interrogation and screams Benghazi!!! and emails!!! at her for an hour.
