Carly Fiorina Would Never Exploit Her Gender For Political Gain

Except that she has so many times...

If we were going to discuss some of the runners up for the Politifact Lie of the Year, I'd say that Carly Fiorina's fallacious claim that she worked her way up from Secretary to CEO would be one of the year's biggest whoppers. I suppose that's something anyone can do because most of us have a father who is the Dean of a prestigious law school and a Federally Appointed District Attorney, right, Carly?

She constantly mentions the fact that she was the first female CEO of a major tech corporation, but she NEVER exploits the fact that she's a woman, as the FromSecretaryToCEO.com website might suggest. Please spare us your sanctimonious, holier-than-thou virtuosity, Fiorina. How about we discuss your record at HP and the tens of thousands of employees who despise your existence? In her run for the GOP nomination, she engaged in a new campaign tactic, now known as failure-bragging:

-- At Hewlett-Packard, she nearly ran the company into Middle Earth, bragged about outsourcing jobs when she did it, and was generally so incompetent a manager that the company paid her millions of dollars to never darken its towels again. This is the record on which she is running for president.

FIORINA: I'm going to beat Hillary Clinton by attacking her track record and her lack of trustworthiness. Of course she's going to play the woman card, that's what she does. And the way to deal with the 'woman card' is to attack her track record.

Pete Hegseth's obsequious follow-up could easily make you gag:

'Obviously you have the unique ability to fight fire with fire in that context; is it better to play the woman card right back with all your accomplishments or neutralize it and say hey, it's not about that, it's about the issues?

Fiorina resorts to her usual barbs at Hillary as if she's only discussing the historic nature of being the first female president, when she's actually out there talking about issues that are not only important to most Americans, but she's a proponent of women's rights, unlike Carly. Fiorina is still pushing that idiotic baby parts lie that helped contribute to violence against innocent people at Planned Parenthood.

The episode in question where Hillary commented that Bernie Sanders seemed a bit sexist when he accused her of shouting about guns, was based on an actual exchange in the first Democratic Debate:

SANDERS: As a senator from a rural state, what I can tell Secretary Clinton, that all the shouting in the world is not going to do what I would hope all of us want, and that is keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have those guns and end this horrible violence that we are seeing.

Obviously it wasn't really a display of sexism on Bernie's part, but Hillary was right in this particular case, and she does acknowledge that Sanders is an ally to women. We sure as hell can't say the same for Carly Fiorina.
