Though their vibe throws throws back to what people bandied about as the slacker sound when describing bands like Pavement, The Grifters, Built To Spill and the like in the 90's, one can't really say that the Parquet Courts are unmotivated.

Since first making the scene in 2011 with their debut album American Specialties the band has kept consistent with a full length each year since, a couple of EP's and singles along the way, and even a slight detour name wise for a bit when they released a couple of those records under the name Parkay Quarts.

Their newest album, Human Performance, was released last week on the Rough Trade label.
