A Song For Memorial Day

And our support to those who have lost someone to war....

It's Memorial Day, and while that is a day for starting off Summer with grilling and the beach, it's also a time to remember those who have fallen in wartime. And a reminder that working for peace is the best memorial we can give.

As General Eisenhower said in 1946, "I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity."

Here's a song for Memorial Day.

Billy Bragg, Tank Park Salute:

Daddy, is it true that we all have to die?

I closed my eyes and when I looked
Your name was in the memorial book
And what had become of all the things we planned
I accepted the commiserations
Of all your friends and your relations
But there's some things I still don't understand

You were so tall, how could you fall?
