Before Will Smith fought it out with the CGI zombie hordes of New York City in "I Am Legend"(2007), and before Charleton Heston slugged it out with the Harpo Marx zombie ihordes of New York City in "The Omega Man" (1971), there was poor Vincent Price, doing battle with the grease-painted vampire/zombie hordes of Rome (for budgetary reasons) in "The Last Man on Earth".

They are all based on Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend" (I'm on a bit of a Matheson kick): a novel which almost single-handedly launched the zombie apocalypse genre, eventually making it possible for Norman Reedus to drink for free in every bar in America for the rest of his life.
