Dem Finally Draws A Line On Katrina Pierson: 'I Could Sue You' For Lying
Angela Rye finally tells Katrina Pierson there are limits to public slander.
Katrina Pierson got her lies handed back to her today when Angela Rye had finally had it with her personal attacks.
As a Trump surrogate, Pierson pushes the lie that the economy is horrible annd Black people in particular live in "hell" and "the ghetto" and of course this is Obama's fault. Economic statistics say otherwise and most Black commentators have exposed Trump's depiction of Black communities as ignorant and bigoted. As Angela Rye said in this segment:
I would like to go back to something Katrina mentioned, which was the middle class is hurting. Well I would go to what we’ve learned from the census bureau last year which is the middle class, and poor people, had the best year they’ve had ever since — in 2015. In quite some time rather. I won’t say ever. It says that real median household income was $56,500 in 2015. That is an increase from $53,700 the year prior. I would also point to you the fact that the unemployment rate is much lower than when President Obama started.
Katrina Pierson then spewed some lies about Angela Rye herself, saying that Angela "ran the Congressional Black Caucus into the ground." That's when Angela Rye lost it.
“I ran the CBC into the ground?” said Rye. “That’s laughable.”
“Katrina, what are you talking about?” asked Costello.
“The record is out there,” Pierson said. “Look at where the finances were.”
“Carol, can I please respond to the personal attack at this point?” Rye asked.
“Let me just help you,” Rye said to Pierson. “Good luck with that lie.”
Rye explained her work with the CBC and multiple jobs programs, then said of Pierson’s remarks, “That’s crazy, what you’re talking about. That’s slander. I could sue you, Katrina.”
Host Carole Costello shook her head at how the segment went off the rails, but any CNN anchor should expect that with a Trump surrogate by now. CNN's reality programming of putting a lying Trump surrogate and a sane person on the air and watching them fight is boring, but when the truth teller finally says "lawsuit" you'd think the suits upstairs at the network would take notice.
