Joe Biden On Donald Trump: 'His Own Words' Condemn Him
Vice President Biden was asked if Trump should be given the benefit of the doubt with regards to his many female accusers and Biden responded by saying his own words and actions damn him.
Vice President Joe Biden joined Chuck Todd on Meet the Press today to discuss numerous issues related to the upcoming election between a competent, mentally stable and brilliant candidate and a narcissistic madman who has been accused of sexual assault by at least 9 women so far.
The most pressing issue, clearly, is the shocking revelations that Trump may have sexually assaulted women going back at least 30 years, including pending rape charges against a 13 year old, walking in on half naked Miss Teen USA pageant contestants and that he made (on video) shockingly inappropriate comments about a 10 year old girl. I am not even going to get started on all the incestuous comments he has made about his daughters and the inappropriate photos he has taken with his oldest daughter since she was a prepubescent young girl (google them, if you are brave and not currently eating).
Back to VP Biden and Chuck Todd. They were talking about whether these accusers should be believed and Biden had a pretty solid and rational response. YES. When a man, the accused, himself has bragged about actions which then lead to women actually saying "yes, he did that to me" it is pretty clear that one party is telling the truth.
CHUCK TODD: It's good to have you back. All right, let me start with-- obviously the news of this week. You've been tough on Donald Trump-- of the words that he said. We now have multiple accusers out. Why shouldn't he get the benefit of the doubt from these accusers?
VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: His own words. I-- I don't-- I don't have to even go to the accusers. When a man says that-- what he said is a textbook definition of sexual assault. I mean, it's a textbook definition. And the thing that is-- makes it so believable that he engaged in that kind of activity is not just that he said it, but his sort of-- instinctive abuse of power.
It's-- you know, he-- he acts in the private sector. He acts in the-- in the way he treats employees. And it-- and-- in that, you know, "I-- I-- I live in the penthouse. I'm a billionaire. I'm a star. And I can do what I want." That's the most disturbing piece. You know, my father used to say, "The greatest abuse is the abuse of power-- economic power, political power, physical power." And he-- the-- this is not a guy that-- should be representing the United States in any way.
CHUCK TODD: Why do you-- why do you think it's not been disqualifying for even more voters yet?
VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Well, I never know-- and I'm not being a wise guy-- you would know better-- I-- I don't know how deeply it's sunk in to the consciousness. I don't know that-- you know, we think that something gets said once, twice, ten times, a h-- thousand times over a period of a weekend, it'd-- everyone absorbs it.
Most people are just trying to figure out how to put bread and butter on the table. And-- you know, and-- so, I-- I-- I don't know. I think it's sunk in, though, pretty deeply. It's changed the dynamic-- around the country-- in-- a pretty substantial way so far.
CHUCK TODD: We've-- how much do you think our-- we have a course culture that has given this a permission slip?
VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: The thing that-- now, I-- Kathy, who runs my office out front, Ka-- I'm going say her last name-- but-- I ask her-- on Monday was a holiday-- Columbus Day-- so I called her to dou-- double check on my schedule when I started on Tuesday-- there was a change-- at home.
And I said, "You watch the debates?" She said, "My daughter--" I think's going to sixth grade-- "had two of her friends over. And the teacher said you should watch part of the debate." She said, "I was embarrassed at-- I turned it on. I had to turn it off. Told them they couldn't watch it." This is the (coarsening) of the culture that's been going on for some time now.
But this is a new level. And I was with my-- h-- h-- helping my daughter with-- my granddaughter-- my-- she's a senior in high school-- with a paper last night at-- you know, at na-- at -- where I live, the vice president's residence. And she started asking me questions. And she's a bright, bright young woman. And I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed to even-- I have four granddaughters. I mean, I was embarrassed that this is-- this is even being discussed--
Thank you, Sir.
I am reminded of a famous quote by Maya Angelou
“When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.”
Trump has shown us who he really is. Believe him. There is no pivot, there is no reasoning with him, there is no rational Trump.
