Colbert Spoofs Comey's 'Scandal' With 'FBI: Email Readers Unit'

Opening his show with a new drama about a rogue FBI Director/loose cannon

The Late Show opened on Tuesday with a great parody that depicts the FBI's James Comey as a rogue agent and loose cannon. Stephen Colbert and company destroy the FBI's director's conduct with comedic brilliance.

COLBERT AS TV ANNOUNCER: This Fall, from the network that brought you "C.S.I" and "Criminal Minds" comes the newest most exciting program of all: the story of a rogue FBI Director, his crack e-mail squad and a CRAP load of e-mails, discovered eleven days before the election...loose cannon James Comey has to read 650,000 emails...that Hillary thought she could hide...This Fall: Comey DON'T PLAY THAT!

The emails, from flea medication ads to alumni association solicitations, are marked as 'read,' but then the announcer thinks he finds a smoking gun: a plan to murder Antonin Scalia. Oh wait, he corrects himself and says, "that's just an email from Fresh Direct."

The ending of the ad says it all:

"FBI E-Mail Reader's Units," coming this Fall from CBS. I mean, he wouldn't just waste our time, right?
