One of the top five loudest rock shows I've ever been to was Dinosaur Jr at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit back in '91. So much so that I can still recall how loud it was almost 30 years later.

The band's main man, J Mascis, likes to get a little quiet from time to time though to. His latest solo album, Elastic Days, has some examples of such.
