Tulsi Gabbard Not Running For Re-Election To Congress

Gabbard made the announcement on Twitter late last night.

Tulsi Gabbard, mired in controversy on whether or not she'll run as a third-party candidate, with allegations she's seen as a Russian asset, announced on Twitter that she won't seek re-election to congress next year. Which is just as well, as the signs were there that she'd almost certainly lose the primary.

Gabbard also criticized the impeachment inquiry by Democrats on Sean Hannity last night, just before she made her announcement. Gabbard said the process was too partisan and lacked transparency.

Gabbard made the announcement on Twitter early Friday. She has served in the seat since 2013 and is being challenged in the 2020 Democratic primary by Hawaii state Sen. Kai Kahele, who has criticized her for spending too much time outside the district on her presidential campaign.
