It was thirty years ago today that New Zealand band the Chills released their 2nd album Submarine Bells. It was the band's first album on a major label and its first single "Heavenly Pop Hit" became a huge song on US college radio in 1990, eventually reaching #17 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart that year.
