Former 'President' Loses It, Sends Wild 14-Page Letter To 'Unselect Committee'

That's a huge pity party.

Former President Donald Trump obviously watched the Jan. 6 hearing on Thursday. His reaction to that and to the news that he will have to testify under oath screams of desperation. On Friday morning, Trump took to his failing Truth Social platform to post, "PEACEFULLY AND PATRIOTICALLY," and left a link to a 14-page (!!!) letter to Bennie G. Thompson, the Chairman of the Select Committee. The lengthy statement that reads like a massive pity party is littered with lies.

Trump claims in the letter that he "recommended and authorized thousands of troops to be deployed to ensure that there was peace, safety, and security at the Capitol," however, there is zero proof of that. As PolitiFact notes, The D.C. National Guard reports only to the president. If such a request had been made, they would not have had the authority to deny it."

Trump spent a good portion of the letter bragging about the crowd size on Jan. 6, and to the surprise of no one, the letter starts with, "THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN!"

Trump brings up Antifa and Black Lives Matter and claims that we have a "two-tier system of Justice." I agree with that. Powerful men are rarely held accountable for their crimes, but we -- regular everyday folks -- are held to a far more rigorous justice system. Trump should have already been indicted, but that hasn't happened yet.

Trump talks about the "Unselect" Committee's very poor television ratings; then he launches into a pages-long rant about the rigged election that wasn't rigged.

Trump ends the memo with:

There are many other facts and discrepancies that we are not presenting at this time due to time constraints but that are also Election determinative. At your request, I will present these additional numbers to you, but everything already presented would change the final Election result many times over.

And there you have it. The men in the white van could descend on Mar-a-Lago to take him away in a straitjacket, and Lumpy would still be trying to overturn the election that took place 710 days ago.
