We're Making The Case For Angelica Dueñas One Last Time

In 2020, a dozen House seats were won by less than 2%. GOP poured cash into these races at the last minute and we lost by a handful of votes. We want to run the ad right up until noon on Tuesday. Angelica Dueñas needs this information out now. Can you help us?

People keep telling me it’s too late to make a difference in the elections now. Not so— not at all. In 2020, a dozen House seats were won by less than 2%. In an Iowa open seat, Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks beat Democrat Christina Bohannan by SIX votes— 196,964 to 196,958. In New York, crackpot Trumpist Claudia Tenney beat Blue Dog incumbent Anthony Brindisi by 109 votes out of 319,638 cast. And here in California, Republican Mike Garcia kept his seat by beating Christy Smith by 333 votes out of 338,943 cast. Please believe me, those three Democrats could have won with last minute efforts targeted towards swing voters.

Yesterday was the final day to put up any new political ads on Facebook. Facebook cut off new ads at midnight. Blue America is running heavy ad schedules in Pennsylvania now and we don’t have any more budget for new spots.

But I asked our ad guy, Spencer, to rush out a closing ad for the San Fernando Valley race between progressive Angelica Dueñas and corrupt New Dem Tony Cárdenas. CA-29, which includes Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Pacoima, Sun Valley, Valley Village, Sylmar, Studio City, Toluca Lake, deserves a Representative who wants to fight for their interests, not for his own career.

The ad above is one of the 4 ads we came up with. We’re starting with all 4 ads and then eliminating the 3 that get the smallest response after testing a few days.

Spencer, the ad guy from Mycorrhiza Digital, explained why contributions are so important now:

Your donation could make a HUGE difference for small, people-powered campaigns and get thousands more people to see their ads, change their votes, or get out and vote at all in the final weeks. And that's what we need to do here for our progressive candidates in the final week as November hits.”

As we’ve seen before, Angelica has a unique and refreshing way of looking at what a Representative’s job is. She told us recently that

“When we are in office we will make sure that we share our space with the community. Our office will be a community empowerment center. We will be teaching our community, and the students in it how to organize, how to run their own campaigns, and how to take over seats of power. My community has been used and abused by the likes of Tony Cárdenas and other corrupt representatives and we have had enough. I believe that it is our duty to use our platform to empower the working-class.”

She’s running on a platform that includes affordable housing, Medicare for all and a Green New Deal.
