Scott Perry Says The Quiet Part Out Loud For Opposing McCarthy

He is a child trying to do a big boy's job.

Freedom Caucus chair Rep. Scott Perry inadvertently admitted why House Republicans are refusing to vote for Kevin McCarthy. Perry said that McCarthy wasn't interested in talking to them about the Speakership last summer. Republicans were expecting a massive red tsunami, but they got a little red trickle instead.

"Even in the fall, he was disinterested because he expected a 240-seat majority," Perry said. "This big red wave."

Perry suggested that McCarthy dismissed some members of his party, thinking they weren't relevant, so it appears that they're holding the process hostage because their feels were hurt.

"Because we had a slim majority," he said. "None of these changes that are necessary...would be on the table if the slim majority didn't exist."

Scott is saying that it's necessary to make these changes "for the American people," echoing precisely what Lauren Boebert said in an interview with Stephanie Ruhle.

They are children wanting to do an adult's job but without the mental capacity to know how to do it.

This was a weird moment:

Taxpayers pay their salary, and Republicans just got the majority, but they've bungled things so badly that they can't get to work.
