Good Old Bobi!

Bobi has just been confirmed to be the oldest dog ever. And he's a good boy too!

Over the weekend, the Guinness Book of World Records introduced us to Bobi the purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo. Bobi, who lives in a small town in Portugal, has been confirmed to be the world's oldest dog. As of this writing, Bobi has lived to be an incredible 30 years and 268 days old, shattering the old record that has been held since 1939.

Bobi's pet hooman, Leonel Costa, credits Bobi's longevity to living a quiet, peaceful life; never having been chained or leashed; and eating people food (without the seasoning). And, probably most important of all, lots and lots of love.

I am amazed at how old Bobi is, even though I had a dog that did live to be 21 and a half years old. I am even more amazed since Bobi is a purebred and is a larger dogs, both of which tend to be strikes against longevity for most dogs.

But there is one thing Mr. Costa forgot to credit Bobi's longevity to - that Bobi is obviously a 100% good boy!
