Marge On Tyre Nichols' Murder By Cops: What About Ashli Babbitt?

This Congress is going to be lit.

Controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was assigned a committee seat on the House Oversight Committee. She used her time on Tuesday in a committee meeting to weigh in on Tyre Nichols' brutal murder at the hands of police officers during a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee.

Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crocket had spoken out against Republicans' decision to disband an oversight subcommittee focused on civil rights. In his argument, he mentions Nichols' death as something the subcommittee might have investigated, according to HuffPo.

"Miss Crockett, I do agree with you about Tyre Nichols' death," Greene said. "I watched the video, and it was tragic and extremely difficult to watch."

Greene noted that Memphis is a Democratic-led city, and said that the police officers who beat Nichols were Black, so it "isn't an issue of racism or anything like that."

Whatabout:

"But I'd like to also point out something that I'd hope you share with me: There's a woman in this room whose daughter was murdered on Jan. 6, Ashli Babbitt," Greene continued.

Yes, Marge appears to have invited Babbitt's mother to attend the hearing for some reason.

"As a matter of fact, no one has cared about the person that shot and killed her," she said of the officer that was cleared of any wrongdoing. "And no one in this Congress has really addressed that issue. And I believe that there are many people that came into the Capitol on Jan. 6, whose civil rights and liberties are being violated heavily."

Greene has visited the Jan. 6 defendants in jail and has not honored the officers who protected members of Congress that day, including Sporkfoot. Ashli Babbit should have complied. Instead, she crawled through a window with a mob of savages right behind her. If she had crawled through my window, she would have experienced the same result.

Greene was previously removed from her committee seats for supporting violence against Democrats.

Law and order!

PS. Our colleague Capper points out that Marge can't spell Ashli Babbitt's name correctly.
