‘Christocrat’ Plans To Remove Every ‘Immoral’ Book In TX Libraries

Rick Scarborough wants to spend the rest of his life purging “immoral” books from libraries.

Right Wing Watch notes Scarborough is “a self-described 'Christocrat,' strident anti-LGBTQ activist, and longtime critic of public education.” Last month, he spoke of his desire to impose his extremist agenda on school boards and America, as a whole: “I mean, why not take it over for Jesus?” he said.

But that's not all. After claiming, “We’re grooming our children for pedophiles” because 68% of Texas teachers “now believe that the LGBTQ agenda should be taught and embraced,” Scarborough declared that he wants to dedicate the rest of his life to banning books. That is, if he can get enough people to give him money:

SCARBOROUGH: Now, let me tell you what I’m gonna spend the rest of my life doing. And by God’s grace, if I can raise the budget and get people behind me, in four years, I want to expunge this entire state of every immoral book in the library. Call me a Nazi, call me a book burner, I’ve been called worse.

As a former librarian, I can assure you that it doesn’t take money to challenge books in a library, it just takes time and effort. But I won’t be divulging what I know about how it’s done. Besides, I’ll bet knowledge is not what Scarborough is really after.
