GOP Lawmaker Warns About The Danger Of Voting
Minnesota Republican State Representative Matt Bliss is confused about a lot of things.
The Minnesota State House Election Committee was discussing a voting bill when Republican State Representative Matt Bliss sounded a dire warning bell.
The national popular vote, I know some people say that it strengthens each individual vote, but this brings us closer to a democracy. That is not a good thing, Our public needs to support the democracy. We're not a democracy. We're a constitutional republic
In response, I defer to David Edwards, who addressed a similarly asinine comment from Lauren Boebert:
According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the United States is considered a "representative democracy."
"This means that our government is elected by citizens," one USCIS lesson explains. "Here, citizens vote for their government officials. These officials represent the citizens' ideas and concerns in government."
The saying is that ignorance is bliss, but here I believe we just proved that Bliss is ignorant.
