Trump: They Are Looking To Charge Me With The Espionage Act

It's hard to tell if Lumpy is lying or not. *flips coin*

On Tuesday evening, the one-term, twice-impeached, indicted former President gave a low energy, unenthusiastic post-arraignment speech at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago. Trump aired his grievances, as usual. The entire world is out to get him. He's the most innocent person in the world, etc.

At one point, Trump said, "Apparently, they're not looking at me through the view of the non-criminal presidential records act. They came up with a new one; this is a new one, and they're looking at me through the Espionage Act of 1917, how does that sound? Where the penalty is death."

He went on to call Special Counsel Jack Smith a "lunatic" for doing his job. Trump has not toned down his rhetoric even after the Judge said in court that he was concerned about his incendiary remarks.

Back in August, The Hill reported:

Federal law enforcement suspected former President Trump had violated the Espionage Act and other laws when it sought and obtained a search warrant for his Mar-a-Lago estate, according to court records unsealed Friday.

The unsealed warrant shows that investigators were authorized to seize any documents or records with classified markings or related to the “transmission of national defense information or classified material.”

The warrant also authorized the seizure of “any evidence of the knowing alteration, destruction, or concealment of any government and/or Presidential Records, or of any documents with classification markings.”

Who amongst us does not think that Lumpy would share our nation's classified documents with the highest bidder -- a foreign government? Trump needs to look up: 8 USC 794.
