GOP Senator: Classified Documents Case Against Trump 'Slam-Dunk'

Here we go again. Another spineless Republican -- Bill Cassidy -- admits Trump is likely to be convicted of at least one crime, says he should drop out of the presidential race, but then says he's still going to vote for him if he's the nominee.

Here we go again. Another spineless Republican admits that Trump is likely to be convicted of at least one crime, says he should drop out of the presidential race, but then says he's still going to vote for him if he's the nominee.

Louisiana GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy made an appearance on CNN's State of the Union this Sunday, and was asked by host Kasie Hunt about Trump's refusal to participate in the upcoming debate, and whether the charges that have been brought against him are “reasonable.”

Cassidy responded that he's “not an attorney,” but he did believe the charge relating to mishandling of classified documents was going to be a “slam-dunk” and called it a “very strong case.” (No mention of whether Judge Aileen Cannon might succeed in sabotaging the case for Trump, of course.)

Hunt asked Cassidy whether he thought “Trump should jump out of the race” and Cassidy agreed he should.

“I think so. But obviously, that's up to him. Just asking my opinion but he will lose to Joe Biden if you look at the current polls.” Cassidy went onto explain that he believes Trump will lose to Biden in the general election, but of course, he's still going to vote for the Republican nominee no matter what.

“I'm going to vote for a Republican but my threshold issue for any person who wants to be the leader of our country is will you take care of the issues before us,” Cassidy opined, before proceeding to lie about what the Democrats vs Republicans policies are on Social Security.

“Biden and Trump have the same policy on Social Security which is to do nothing. Unfortunately, Social Security is going insolvent and 8 to 9 years which means somebody watching this is getting social security is going to get a 24 percent cut. Former president Trump, President Biden, are basically saying you get a 24 percent cut because I'm not going to do anything. My threshold issue if you want to be a leader is to lead and right now we need someone who will lead on that issue.”

By “lead” he means partially privatizing Social Security by creating a second trust fund that's has money invested in the stock market, a plan he's been working on for some time now that also potentially involves gradually raising the retirement age to 70, which he believes will pass if any of the other Republican nominees are elected president next year.

I await Donald Trump throwing another hissy fit on Truth Social in 5... 4... 3...
