VP Kamala Harris Shuts It Down: 'I Don't Have Time For Parlor Games'
60 Minutes' Bill Whitaker tries to draw her into a discussion of whether she'd run for president if something happened to President Biden, and she is not having it.
VP Kamala Harris shuts down the usual Beltway theorizing while being interviewed for 60 Minutes. I truly believe that the only voters who really want to talk about her running instead of Biden are Republicans -- the usual chaos agents.
"We were talking to some Democratic donors, and they have told us that, should something befall President Biden, and he is not able to run, in that free for all for who would run as president, you are in the spot that would be a natural for you to step up. But we're hearing from donors that they would not naturally fall into line. Why is that?" Whitaker said.
(I put this in the same category of Andrea Mitchell's insulting question to Hillary Clinton: "Why don't the voters like you?" Pure projection.)
"Well, first of all, I'm not going to engage in that hypothetical because Joe Biden is very much alive and running for re-election," she said.
"But you do know -- I mean, that is a concern, and a legitimate concern, I would say," he persisted.
"I hear from a lot of dfferent people a lot of different things. And Bill, let me just tell you, I am focused on the job. I truly am," she said.
"Our democracy is on the line, and I, frankly, in my head, do not have time for parlor games when we have a president who is running for re-election. That's it."
You tell 'im, Madame Vice President. The media is so determined to create news instead of covering it, and you did exactly the right thing.
