Newsmax Goes There: 'Maybe Judge Engeron Swatted Himself!'

The Trump cult must never ever take responsibility.

Somebody on Newsmax named Chris Plante had on his "Right Squad" show some person named Penny Nance and another named Jason Nichols and the three of them massaged the tender egos of their Trump cult audience by suggesting Judge Engeron might have swatted himself, and besides, Democrats swatted first. Transcript via Media Matters:

CHRIS PLANTE (HOST): The judge's verdict is expected in the coming weeks, they say, which could end up stripping President Trump of all of his businesses, which is one of the things they're after. We're here with tonight's squad. So why don't we -- why don't we jump right in? This is, you know, just an extraordinary thing to watch, I suppose. And Jason, what is this? I mean, it's gotta look pretty good for President Trump, right?

JASON NICHOLS (GUEST): I think he's definitely someone who is using this as an opportunity to campaign and this is what the judge wanted to prevent him from speaking about because he was going to turn this into a campaign event rather than talking and speaking about the relevant facts, which any attorney giving closing arguments would have to do. They'd be limited to those relevant facts. I think, again, this is unprecedented in so many ways. I think you're right about Letitia James saying that she was going to get Trump. That's a fact. She should not have said that because it taints something, a case that is backed by documentation, but you can always go back to the fact that she said she was going to go and get the guy. Now, Trump had one expert witness who was paid $900,000. So, I think you can get a lot of people to say a lot of things for $900,000 dollars. And I think it's a shame that this is very political to the point where even Judge Engoron's house was swatted today and he was, you know, he received bomb threats. It's a really sad time in America. I think -- I wish that this case could have just gone through. We could have gotten, you know, we'll get the answer at the end of the month. But it's sad when all these political angles start to come into a case that's about documents and documentation.

PLANTE: And the Democrats -- you're right, shouldn't have started this swatting thing, which has been, you know, had been targeting Republicans for ages --

PENNY NANCE (GUEST): Well I think he did it himself. And don't you think that this judge seems a lot like Judge Ito? Remember that? Remember the OJ Simpson trial? The guy loved the cameras. They wanted them in the courtroom --

PLANTE: Judge Ito. Yeah.

NANCE: Judge Ito. He wanted cameras. He, you know, he lied. He tried to have his own show later, he wanted to be Judge Judy. And this judge reminds me of the same thing.

PLANTE: Well, I love that now a couple of Democrats have been swatted, now it's an issue. It's been going on for ages with Republicans --

NANCE: No, it's terrible. Nobody wants to do that, but --

PLANTE: Marjorie Taylor Greene has been swatted eight times. And that's, you know, it's a -- Republican senators over Christmas. It's a -- the Democrats started it and then when it happens to them, once again, it's like, you know, they have 580 riots across the country and then January 6th somehow affects them extraordinarily. This is -- this is just, you know, it's all being exposed.

Swatting is a terrorist threat, always. But for the Trump cult that watches Newsmax, there is never any responsibility on your side for anything the end.
