Van Orden Cosplays An Alternative D-Day History

Representative Drunken Van Orden pretends the fascists stormed Normandy Beach and compares Biden to Hitler. He is not a well man.

Representative Derrick Van Orden (J6 - WI) took an interesting trip, both physically and mentally, for the 80th commemoration of D-Day.

First, DVO and seven other wing nut Congresscritters dressed up like WWII paratroopers to cosplay an alternative history version of D-Day in which the fascists stormed Normandy Beach:

Not bad for a guy who is receiving disability benefits for a supposed bad back.

But before they entered their fictional dysfunctional dystopia, DVO put down the booze bottle long enough to do an interview on News Nation where he said that if Biden was president in 1944, we would have lost WWII. He immediately went into an insane tirade about how Biden has the country on the verge of WWIII. Naturally, since he is a MAGA wing nut, all these accusations were made without even a rationale, much less any proof.

But hold on a minute because there's more. There's always more.

Before all that, DVO did another interview with Meg Ellefson on her squawk radio show:

During this interview, DVO compared Biden and the Democrats to Hitler and the Nazis. Then, while keeping the Nazi comparison going, he also suggested that George Orwell's "1984" was also like Biden's administration, while throwing a little more alternative history in there for good measure:

He urged people to read George Orwell’s dystopian novel, “1984,” claiming it illustrates the lengths Democrats will go to spread propaganda and distort reality. He compared the book’s protagonist, Winston, to President Joe Biden, and again invoked Nazis.

“His job is to go back into history and change history if it doesn’t reflect the current outlook that the regime wants,” Van Orden said of Winston. “You’re seeing that take place right now. Joe Biden is going back and retroactively changing the stuff that they’ve been doing and the media is complicit with it. Let’s remember that the term ‘propaganda’ came from the Nazi Party. That was Joseph Goebbels.”

(Nazis did not create the term “propaganda.” It first came onto the scene in 1622, when Pope Gregory XV created the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, per the American Historical Association. It was adopted into its common use during World War I.)

“If you can’t look at the left-wing media … and see that they’re marching lockstep together and pushing a consistent message over all different forms of media, then you’re blind,” the Wisconsin Republican added.

I would suggest that DVO, after he sobers up, make amends and apologize to WWII veterans and their families for exploiting them and their sacrifices for some cheap political points. But I'm afraid that the joke would be on me. I'm not sure DVO will ever sober up.
