Senate Chaplain Tells Fox News: 'Any Objective Observer' Can See The Shutdown 'Insanity'

In a recent interview, U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black told Fox News that "any objective observer" could see that there was a "certain insanity" in Congress that allowed the ongoing government shutdown to take place.

"Any objective observer would see a certain insanity in some of the things that have happened in this government shutdown," Black explained to Fox News host Chris Wallace.

"In a spiritual sense, what will it take for our leaders to get together and sign this?" the Fox News host wondered.

"It's going to take humility," Black pointed out. "There's a Proverb that says pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. So, making a commitment to be stewards, to being servants -- and that's going to involve humility."

Black said that a number of senators had told him that they were thinking about things differently because of his daily "prayers."
