Boehner Calls For Obama To Work With GOP To Delay Obamacare

John Boehner might as well believe in faeries.

website:

“It’s a shame that the president could not manage to rise above partisanship today. Instead, he should be working in a bipartisan way to address America’s spending problem -- the way presidents of both parties have done before. He should work with us to delay his health care law for everyone – just as he’s done for big businesses – expand energy production, simplify our tax code, and more. The president is right that we’re ‘not yet where we need to be,’ which is why Republicans will stay focused on growing our economy and expanding opportunity for all Americans.”

In John Boehner's world, it makes sense that President Obama should work with Republicans to delay Obamacare. Sure, forget that he spent much of 2009 and early 2010 working to get it passed, established its constitutionality in the Supreme Court, and won re-election against an opponent who promised to repeal it, but now that we're just two weeks away from open enrollment for people to be able to enroll for health insurance coverage under Obamacare, it's time for the president to say the hell with it and work with Republicans to delay it.

Even more absurd is that when Republicans like Ted Cruz read Boehner's statement, they become enraged not because of the absurdity of it, but because they think simply calling for a delay isn't enough. They want it completely defunded, and if the president won't agree -- which he won't -- they want to shut down the entire government.

All for the good of the American people, of course.
