Under H.R.1350, the FBI would be funded to hire an additional 1,000 FBI agents to chase down, and bring to justice those who were responsible for bringing the nation to its financial knees. The FBI identified the mortgage fraud epidemic in congressional testimony in September 2004, but they only had and have about 120 agents to tackle white-collar crime. That, according to the FBI, is one of the biggest reasons that none of the Wall Street financial titans have been put behind bars.
