Highlighting the discord among Republicans over President Barack Obama’s targeted killings policy, two prominent GOP senators, John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, took to the Senate floor to criticize Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s 12-hour filibuster Wednesday.

After 13 hours, nature calls. That’s what Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) learned in the first hours of Thursday morning when his filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan as director of the CIA ended at 12:39 a.m. because he had to use the bathroom. “I’ve discovered there are some limits to filibustering, and I’m going to have to take care of one of those in a few minutes,” he said. But speaking with Glenn Beck on Thursday, Paul said he thought of using a catheter to prevent the necessary bathroom break. “I did think about it,” he said. “I’ve put them in before, but I really decided against it.”
