"Jazz Alive". It hearkened back to the days when Network radio routinely ran live Jazz programs almost nightly, sampling clubs and concerts from around the country, giving the audience a thorough knowledge of Americas greatest art form.

Sadly, those days are pretty much gone and we are all the poorer for it. But in 1982 things were still popping and Jazz Alive ran performances from The Kool Jazz Festival, including these featuring The Heath Brothers (July 1, 1982), Jay McShann (July 2, 1982) and Stan Getz (June 27, 1982).
