Blur were part of the great genre-shift that got started in Manchester in the late 80's where everything just got freed up and jumped back to basics. While we were basking in the glow of grunge over here, we had Madchester to balance everything over there. And it was, at least to my ears, a very fun and interesting time for music.

So tonight it's a trip back to 1994 and the legendary Glastonbury Festival featuring a set by Blur. This was right during their high point and it's a memorable half hour broadcast by BBC 6 Music.

It's possible you may not be familiar with them - Blur did "okay" in the States, but not to the degree they were popular everywhere else in the world.

If you aren't, and you feel your background in 90's bands may be lacking, check this one out. If the singer sounds familiar, Damon Albarn is the driving force behind Gorillaz, currently doing extremely well.
