Professor Longhair was as much a New Orleans institution as Mardi Gras. Certainly one of the pillars of the music scene in that town for a very long time, he is still very much revered some thirty years after his death. Tonights track was one of his signature tunes. No Buts, No Maybes was recorded around 1957 (there's no session date information since it was a master purchase for the fledgling Ebb Records label and their first single Ebb 101). It's been a musical staple ever since.
