Nights At The Roundtable - Trashcan Sinatras In Session - 1990

Nights at the Roundtable with Trashcan Sinatras in session at the BBC, recorded in 1990.

Still alive, still kicking, still turning out wonderful tunes.

Without question, one of my favorite bands of the 90's (and since) have been Trashcan Sinatras. Kind of an unlikely name for a band whose lyrical content far surpasses a good 75% of the bands from the same period. And maybe that's a good thing because there is nothing common or ordinary about this band and they have maintained a consistency of extraordinary song writing ever since they first came on the scene. They are one of those bands you can't listen at, but feel compelled to listen to.

Tonight it's a set of tracks recorded at The BBC Maida Vale Studios in 1990 (I don't have the exact date, but I'm sure someone will let me know) and first appeared on an album of outtakes, demos and unreleased material released on a two-CD set sometime in 2003.

The tracks are:

1. Maybe I Should Drive
2. Thrupenny Tears
3. Funny
4. You Made Me Feel

If you're a fan, you may not have heard these tracks before (I don't know how widely available the album these came from was). If you're not familiar with Trashcan Sinatras, do yourself a favor and check out their website and the very rich collection of albums they've released over the years and grab them all.

Just sayin'.
