Spring Comes To Yemen - The Latest From The Region.

The latest news regarding the toppling of the government of Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen, along with testimony regarding use of torture on protesters in Bahrain and a ceasefire called in Egypt and continued anti-government violence in Tahrir Square - all on one day.

Look familiar?

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh resigned and left the country, presumably for New York where he is rumored to be undergoing treatment for a health issue. So, in following the list of former corrupt and oppressive Arab countries, starting with Tunisia and working its way over to Libya, Yemen becomes the latest in the Arab Spring Movement to give way under peaceful protest.

Not so peaceful is the testimony from witnesses earlier today in Bahrain who gave vivid detail of the torture of political prisoners during that country's recent and on-going protests.

Also, back to Egypt and Tahrir Square where civil unrest continues. A ceasefire has been called between government police and the protesters. This hot on the heels of upcoming elections Monday.

Historic news of the present - which no doubt will be heard many times in the coming months and years.
