While discussing the special election in New York's 26th congressional district and whether the Republicans have made a mistake supporting Paul Ryan's proposal to turn Medicare into a voucher system, Joe Scarborough goes into a tirade comparing those who want to still receive Medicare to him wanting to have fatty steak and chocolate cake. I guess Scarborough thinks if you just scream loudly enough over everyone else, that's how you win an argument.

I'm not sure what was more pathetic here; Scarborough's rant or Harold Ford Jr.'s weak-kneed response. Sorry Joe but maybe if health insurance executives weren't making hundreds of times more than their average employees and than their companies were spending more on covering their patients instead of worried about Wall Street and paying executives' bonuses and salaries and for commercials on television or if we'd dare to raise taxes on the rich, you wouldn't have a reason to be going on screaming rampages on television.

Scarborough insisted that if politicians just "tell the truth" about Medicare and speak more passionately on the issue that the public is going to come along. I'd be more than happy to see Scarborough do some ad messaging work for the Republicans if he thinks calling seniors greedy and selfish pigs who just want to stuff their faces with steak and chocolate cake every day is going to go over well for them. There are ways to address the problems with Medicare without taking a guaranteed benefit and turning it into a voucher system and putting those the most vulnerable at the mercy of the insurance industry no matter how loudly the bullies of the world like Scarborough want to insist there isn't.
