C&L's Late Night Music Club With Grizzly Bear

Ok, so these guys are not from my side of the pond, which means that this will definitely be old news to a lot of you reading this, but I don't care.

Ok, so these guys are not from my side of the pond, which means that this will definitely be old news to a lot of you reading this, but I don't care. Grizzly Bear played at London's Roundhouse a few weeks ago and I left the venue reeling in awe. If I'm perfectly honest, I still am reeling (if only a little).

Standing inside the venue, I have never felt more like a sardine. And it's big place. With nothing but a few inches of breathing space either side of me I watched this apparently shy band play their second album, Veckatimest, with a consuming intensity to an audience of very quiet, attentive people. The stage was drenched with vibrant red, green and blue lights, and cliche as it sounds, people only whispered to each other despite the loudness of the music.

Wanting to go to the bar or (more importantly) the toilet couldn't make me move and find a more comfortable spot. I really didn't want to leave at the end.

In other offerings our sister site Newstalgia has for your listening pleasure a recital by Pianist Philippe Cassard - Live from Paris.

What are you listening to tonight?
