Yesterday, I called Rush Limbaugh. In his first hour monologue, he told his audience that he is tired of hearing establishment Republicans whine about how formidable Barack Obama is as a candidate. This is standard fare for Rush; he's repeated this trope dozens of times. He always concludes by saying that the worst Republican in the field - including the nuts (Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman according to Rush) - are orders of magnitude more appealing than the "man-boy" that snuck into the White House, unvetted, in 2008. He reiterates that the Republicans don't need a strong candidate - a container of Turtle Wax could beat him in this economy.

I decided to challenge him on that today, but from the right.

Honestly, left or right, isn't in the country's interest to at least have a competent President?

I called the program, and after hitting redial a few minutes, Bo Snerdely picked up. I made my case and he asked me to hold. An hour later I was on the air with Rush.
