Houston Hipster News Says Romney Is Wrong On Oil Production

Better late than never I suppose. But the fact they went there at all is worthy of praise. Last Saturday, a local "hipster" news program in Houston, Texas geared toward young adults called "News Fix"

"News Fix" (ie: "Get your news fix") dedicated one segment to the fact that under President Obama, the U.S. is on track to surpass Saudi Arabia in oil production (any story "oil" related in Houston is news-worthy).

At one point, the story turned to the question of whether or not oil production is actually "up" or "down" since President Obama took office, playing the Second Debate exchange between Mitt Romney and President Obama on that very subject.

Without equivocation, they flat out say Romney "is wrong".

The fact a deep South TV station fact-checked Romney was striking enough, but to point it out just three days before the election is actually quite impressive.

(Note: Living here I can attest, Houston is arguably the second most Liberal city in Texas [after Austin]. The largest city in the U.S. to have elected [and then reelected] an openly gay mayor, and in 2000, Al Gore won the city of Houston within the city limits.)
