Sunday Morning Bobblehead Thread

Let's look at who the corporate media have decided should shape the debate.

The Opposite" (1994)

My husband has a friend who I jokingly refer to as "the Costanza" because his life just seems like a series of consequences from poor choices. It's hard not to wonder what his life would be if he had simply ignored his natural instincts and done the opposite. He could hardly have done worse. In many ways, I see the national dialog is similarly infected with Costanza-ism. After 30 years of failed Republican policies, it seems like it would behoove us collectively to wonder if maybe doing the opposite of those instincts would give us better results. Maybe instead of cutting Social Security benefits we should expand them. Maybe instead of starting up a whole new Cold War with Russia over Edward Snowden (admittedly, not the whole or even largest reason to disagree with Russia), we could be honest and admit that we would have done the same thing to them had the situation been reversed. And can we just point out that listening to conservatives about climate change has resulted in the warmest year on record? Maybe it's beyond time to do the opposite.
