C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Bali

This is a bit of an odd piece that comes to us from Indonesia. Sounds like an ages-old traditional piece that's been handed down through generations, right? Nope.

This is a bit of an odd piece that comes to us from Indonesia. Sounds like an ages-old traditional piece that's been handed down through generations, right? Nope. What you are listening to has roots in traditional chants, but is ultimately a tourist attraction that was arranged by a German by the name of Walter Spies, back in the 1930s. But that energy, however, is all natural. Kecak is a very intricate piece that makes use of hocketing and complex syncopation that shows just how talented and in sync these chanters are.
