C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Jimi Hendrix

Lots of artists have posthumous albums, but do deceased have lots of posthumous albums? Apparently so, because Jimi Hendrix has released ten since his death in 1970.

Lots of artists have posthumous albums, but do deceased have lots of posthumous albums? Apparently so, because Jimi Hendrix has released ten since his death in 1970. Wait, ten? Ten!? I understand that he had a lot of left over material recorded prior to his death, but ten albums worth? Even though they may not be part of the official Hendrix "canon", some of those releases were pretty decent, this one included. The difference between People, Hell and Angels and Hendrix's other posthumous releases is that this material was approved by Hendrix's family members, as opposed to past ones, which went through his label. While this album doesn't capture Jimi's style perfectly, it does a decent job of compiling demos and unused takes and combining them with some producer magic to pull it all together. Worth a listen for a big Hendrix fan, but not necessary to cherish and understand the whole of his work.
