'Hundreds' Of Guns, Ammo, Chemicals Cleared From CT House

Officials removed and detonated explosive materials and devices from a Fairfield CT home today and are still clearing hundreds of guns and "tens of thousands" rounds of ammunition.

Another Fox News devotee? I wonder just how many of these massive arsenals we have in this great country of ours:

Local, state and federal officials removed and detonated explosive materials and devices from a Bronson Road home today and are still clearing hundreds of guns and "tens of thousands" rounds of ammunition before containers of potentially dangerous chemicals are cleared from the property.

Police Chief Gary McNamara, at a press conference Wednesday morning, said the resident at 1625 Bronson Road will be arrested for the manufacture of explosive devices. Sources have indicated that a Superior Court judge in Bridgeport has signed that warrant this morning.

The home is owned by Joseph Callahan, a 65-year-old who lived alone, and sources confirmed that he will be arrested. Police said there are indications he has a background in chemistry and may have worked at the former Remington Arms in Bridgeport.

MacNamara said investigators have yet to determine why the explosive devices were made, but added, "Anybody who makes bombs has some sort of nefarious reason."
