VIENNA, Ohio — President Bush, hunting for every vote in rural areas of key states Wednesday, appealed for support from Democrats. The Kerry campaign said the pitch showed Bush is falling short of the support he needs, and his references to Democratic presidents drew a rebuke from the daughter of President Kennedy. read on
The Democratic National Committee released a statement from Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. "It's hard for me to listen to President Bush invoking my father's memory to attack John Kerry," she said. "President Kennedy inspired and united the country and so will John Kerry. President Bush is doing just the opposite. All of us who revere the strength and resolve of President Kennedy will be supporting John Kerry on Election Day," she said.
